Picking up from what I said last week about noticing what’s been good in life – thank you to those who’ve shared their responses by the way – the sun has been shining on a couple of days this week and it’s been lovely to be able to get out into the garden and do some work. Now I can’t be trusted with the pruning etc otherwise the plants might never grow back again! So my task has been to dig over the vegetable plots in readiness for planting up later in the spring.
It strikes me that despite the all too tragic circumstances of the pandemic we now find ourselves in times when we are able to do a bit of digging over and preparing of the soil for our future as church. We have an opportunity to turn the soil over, get rid of some the weeds that we might get tangled up in and ensure that the soil is ready for planting.
