This year we are going to celebrate an ‘Out of the Ordinary Christmas’ here at Ashby Wesley. We will be using the Methodist Church worship and publicity material for the 6 weeks from Advent Sunday, through Christmas and on to Epiphany. Our morning services every Sunday will be intergenerational – in other words there will aim to be something for everyone and we all meet together as a church family. Services in the morning might look a bit different and we want you all to get involved so please join in as much as you feel able. More traditional services will take place in the afternoon/evening through the month at Laughton, Yaddlethorpe and here at Ashby so please look out for those as well. We are also aiming to connect with our local community here in Ashby in a variety of ways – offering space for remembering loved ones in our garden and by opening the church for prayer; offering carols & hot chocolate in the car park one evening for anyone to join in; and of course inviting all our user groups to join in our Nativity & Carol services on the 17th and our Christingle & Christmas Eve communion on the 24th. We will be giving out gift bags to everyone who attends our special services. If you can donate towards the cost of these please see Sharon. Our Pizza, carols & quiz night on Saturday 25th November at 5pm will raise funds towards all we hope to offer to our community this year so please join us.
